I chose to pursue my graduate internship with the Galveston County Museum to further develop my skills in research-based, mission-driven storytelling within a cultural institution. Building on my growing interest in how stories shape public understanding, the role allowed me to support a range of marketing and communications efforts while deepening my appreciation for Galveston’s history and community. I was especially drawn to interviewing donors and contributors, learning firsthand how individual experiences, philanthropy, and legacy intersect with institutional mission. Translating those conversations into blog features required thoughtful research, careful writing, and respect for both personal narrative and public audience.
